Isla Carlos III Ecocamp

Isla Carlos III Ecocamp has been designed and built using the best available technology allowing impact of the presence of the camp on the environment to be minimised.

For this, the camp rests on piles and platforms that are interconnected by bridges, preventing the deterioration and destruction of peat and its vulnerable ecosystem. Energy production and treatment of waste have been studied to avoid contamination and excesses. The desire for respect and preservation of the natural environment is perfectly combined with comfort and hospitality.

The camp consists of five dome bedrooms, a community space, three bathrooms, tents for researchers and an observatory located 300 metres from the camp on a path of wooden walkways, from where the whales are monitored with a view of 280°. It has a maximum capacity of 10 people and all eco camp domes are twin. Showers and hot water are available 24 hours a day and the heating is generated by slow combustion heating.
