Semliki Safari Lodge

Semliki Safari Lodge is situated in Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve and is the only accommodation in over 500 sqkm of wilderness, offering a truly private experience. This feeling of exclusivity is reinforced by the fact that the lodge only hosts a maximum of 18 guests at a time.

It is built out of local materials, giving it an appearance of traditional rustic, but with still a feeling of luxury and comfort enhanced by the sofas with soft cushions, loads of books to read, and hospitable staff.

Staying under canvas is one of the most romantic and exciting things to do on safari in Africa. You hear the sounds, you feel the wind, you smell the rain before it comes. But this isn’t “roughing it”: the tents are spacious and extremely comfortable, with hand carved four poster beds, protected by a thick thatch roof, and feature en-suite bathrooms with running water, hot showers and flush toilets. Tea or coffee is brought to you in the morning so you can lie in bed or sit on your veranda and drink in the stunning panoramic view of the reserve before the day begins.

The food at the lodge has been described as the ‘best in Uganda’ as the chef prides himself that all food at the lodge is homemade, from the bread that is baked daily, to the soups, relishes and chutneys.
