Lewa Downs Conservancy

Lewa Downs is the Eastern part of the famous Laikipia plateau, which is of similar size to Wales. The Lewa Conservancy, founded in the 1970s, is a project managing 65,000 acre of wildlife. It pioneered a pragmatic approach to conservation and nowadays is recognised worldwide as a success.

This region boasts more endangered mammals than anywhere else in East Africa and the stay in the private conservancy of Lewa will offer you the opportunity for unique sightings of black rhinos, white rhinos and Grevy’s zebras, for instance, in addition to a large herd of elephants.

As an option you will be able to decide if, one morning, you want to take part in an unforgettable flight with Will Craig in his plane and fly over the Matthews range and the landscapes of Samburu.
